Tropical Waters and the Unique Characteristics.
In this module, you will learn about the unique characteristics of the tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific region on multiple fronts, including biodiversity and underwater resources. It will further make you understand that the sediment transport pattern is unique, and thus sediment bedload assessment requires a nuanced approach.

Challenges and Opportunities in Sediment Management
In this module, you will learn about the challenges faced by various stakeholders in the sediment management domain. This presents an opportunity for you to understand the generation of innovative concepts in various sectors, including water resource management, sediment transport, dredging, biodiversity preservation, coastal management, and the blue economy.

Sediment Transport Studies.
In this module, you will learn about the sediment transport process in tropical waters. It will further make you understand that the sediment distribution at the land-water interface significantly impacts the dynamics of coastal zones, rivers, and estuaries. This module will also discuss that sediment transport studies are critical for managing varied applications, namely inland water transport, water resource management, water quality management, fisheries, aquaculture, coastal management and more.

Sediment Classification in Tropical Waters
In this module, you will learn about the comprehensive analysis of sediments for understanding the bedload structure, through sediment classification. It will further brief you on the various applications for sediment classification like calculating sediment-bearing pressure, benthic ecosystem monitoring, and abiotic element detection.

Sediment Bearing Pressure.
In this module, you will learn about sediment-bearing pressure, which is a key requirement for any underwater deployment for static and dynamic structures. It will further make you understand the specific applications and their why and how. Varied case studies will be presented that highlight the unique field conditions and their management requirements.

Benthic Ecosystem Management.
In this module, you will learn about the benthic ecosystem, which is fundamental to the well-being and sustainability of water bodies. It will further make you understand the deep impact of Indiscriminate dredging and similar activities on the benthic ecosystem.

Abiotic Assessment & Management.
In this module, you will learn about foreign object detection on the seabed. It will include the detection of marine trash and polymetallic nodule extraction, which have a massive sustainability impact and are also economically unviable. The module will focus on the how, why and for whom of abiotic assessment and management.

Inland Water Transport.
In this module, you will learn about the Inland Water Transport in India, which is an ambitious mission-mode project announced by the Government of India. It will further make you understand the complex sediment transport pattern in the tropical waters which is a major cause of concern for navigability of these waterways. The module will focus on the specific challenges and opportunities related to the Inland Water Transport.

Water Resource Management.
In this module, you will learn about water resource management in India and the effects of sedimentation. It will further make you understand that sediment transport appreciation is critical to ensuring effective management of urban flooding, storage capacity, erosion, etc. This module will focus on the how, why and for whom.

Water Quality Management.
In this module, you will learn about the correlation between water quality and sediment management. This will include understanding the various water quality parameters and how are they affected by the flow of sediments. It will further make you understand that digital transformation will be extremely critical for ensuring real-time monitoring and nuanced policy intervention.

Coastal Management.
In this module, you will learn about coastal management which encompasses initiatives like habitat conservation initiatives of benthic assemblages, early warning systems, developing tourism infrastructure, restoring water bodies, beach cleanup, and more. It will further make you understand that effective coastal management can foster community development and promote inclusive governance by adopting comprehensive approaches.

Sagarmala.
In this module, you will learn about the Sagarmala Project, which is a bold endeavour undertaken by the Government of India, in 2015. It will further make you understand how sagarmala plays a crucial role in sediment management, especially in dredging and the upkeep of nautical channels in ports and harbours.

Policy Interventions.
In this module, you will learn about the existing policy gaps in sediment management, which is essential to establish a comprehensive policy framework that can bring greater coordination and structure to these efforts. This module will further give you context on the policy gaps, and specific regional, national and local policy interventions that need to be devised.

Technology Interventions.
In this module, you will learn about the existing methods for evaluating and tracking sediment movement. It will further make you understand how the collaboration between educational institutions, government organizations, and companies is necessary to improve skill development and bring value to the workforce. This collaboration will also help bridge the gap between academic degrees and industrial requirements.

Acoustic Capacity & Capability.
In this module, you will learn about the acoustic capability development in tropical sediment management. It will further make you understand the to see, to understand and to share framework required for Indigenous hardware development.
